An Alan Jackson look-alike had country music fans doing a double-take on Nashville’s Broadway.
You never know who you might run into on Nashville’s famous Broadway strip. The busy street attracts country music fans from all over, and occasionally, they get lucky enough to spot a familiar face from the genre.
But this time, the man catching everyone’s attention wasn’t actually Alan Jackson.
A video began making the rounds online over the weekend, showing a man who bore a striking resemblance to the country star strolling down Broadway while holding hands with a woman some viewers claimed was Jackson’s wife of 46 years, Denise.
The look-alike leaned into Jackson’s signature style, sporting a tan cowboy hat and a red Western button-up shirt with pearl snaps — an outfit longtime fans have seen the singer wear onstage countless times.
While the resemblance was convincing enough to fool some viewers, others quickly spotted the differences. The comments section soon filled with fans insisting the pair weren’t Alan and Denise.
“Alan is 6’5. This dude is 5’11 max 😂,” one person pointed out.
“Haaaaa. I work for Alan. THAT is NOT HIM…or Denise! 😂🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️,” a Jackson employee chimed in.
“This is sooooo NOT them!!” another fan declared.
The clip even caught the attention of fellow country star Ernest, who joined in on the joke in the comments.
Recognizing that the man was more of a Jackson “knockoff,” Ernest began poking fun at the singer’s well-known songs and lyrics by giving them some amusing new twists.
Among his playful comments were:
-
“Here for a bad time”
-
“Daddy let me walk”
-
“1 o’clock somewhere”
-
“Midnight in manhattan”
-
“Forget when”
-
“Badahoochi”
