Country music’s rising star Ella Langley is drawing significant backlash after old photos resurfaced online, highlighting the “Choosin’ Texas” singer’s interest in hunting.
“Made a new friend at huntin’ camp,” Langley, 27, wrote in the caption of a December 2021 photo showing her with a goat.
Another post from March 2023 featured the Alabama native duck hunting, accompanied by the caption, “Back home doin back home things for a weekend 🤍.”
In December 2022, Langley also posted a picture on X of herself posing with a dead buck.
The “You Look Like You Love Me” singer has been open about her hunting interests. During a 2024 interview with Country Outdoors, she even described her “dream” kill as a “massive white tail.”
Although Langley has never hidden her pastime, the resurfaced images have sparked a wave of criticism on social media in recent weeks.
“There is nothing more pathetic than shooting a wild animal with a gun,” one user wrote on X. “It has to be one of the lowest things a human can do. It requires zero skill; a child could do it.”

Numerous other users also directed harsh criticism at Langley, describing her as “disgusting” and “weird.”
“I knew there was a reason I didn’t like you,” one person wrote on X.
“This is unacceptable,” another commented.
Despite the online backlash, Langley continues to dominate the charts with her record-breaking hit “Choosin’ Texas”. She is also considered a leading contender for the 2027 Best New Artist Grammy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
