North West is setting the record straight about her eye-catching style. The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West recently clarified that her much-discussed facial piercings are not real, explaining that she frequently changes them to experiment with different looks.
During a TikTok livestream with her mother, a screen recording of which circulated on X on Thursday, October 15, North showed viewers four apparent piercings — two on her upper cheeks and two across the bridge of her nose.
“Guys, these piercings are not real,” she said, moving closer to the camera to give viewers a better look.
“I change them so much that you guys think it’s real,” North explained. Kardashian, 45, seemed equally amused by the confusion, asking, “How do people think that they’re real? If they’re all different, all the time.”

North West reveals the piercings she wants when she gets older
Although her current facial accessories are fake, North made it clear that she hopes to get some real piercings in the future.
Asked about her favorite style, she singled out a bridge piercing, which sits across the upper part of the nose.
“I love a bridge. I want a bridge so bad,” she said, adding that she is not allowed to get one yet. North also acknowledged concerns about the potential scarring associated with the procedure.
“It’s so crazy, but I don’t know. I might risk it when I’m older,” she continued, before revealing that she also wants cheek piercings.
Kardashian responded with a practical suggestion: “We can glue on for now.”
North previously discussed her interest in a bridge piercing during an August cover story for Dazed. She explained that body modifications make her feel more like herself, although her parents have not given her permission to get the piercing she wants.
Kim Kardashian responds to criticism of North’s style
The livestream also comes amid ongoing online debate about North’s bold fashion choices, including her blue hair, blacked-out grills, facial accessories and fake tattoos.
In another recent TikTok livestream, North addressed people who had described her appearance as “demonic.”
“Stop saying I’m demonic,” she said. “No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover.”
Kardashian suggested that some of the reactions might stem from North’s black grills and piercings. North pushed back against the association, explaining that her personal style does not reflect anything sinister.
“You guys know I’m not on that demon stuff. I believe in Jesus,” she said, adding that she wanted to show people she is “actually a light, not dark.”
The exchange highlighted the tension between North’s desire to experiment with her appearance and the judgments she encounters online.

North West says self-expression comes first
North has previously spoken openly about her interest in fashion and beauty. In her August interview with Dazed, she described piercings as an important part of expressing her identity.
She has also experimented with other forms of body modification, including thigh and finger piercings, drawing public attention to her evolving style.
In the same interview, North made it clear that her interests differ from what she sees other young people prioritizing. “Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff,” she said. “All I want is blue hair and piercings.”
Kardashian has also defended her daughter’s confidence. During an October 2025 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she recalled North telling her that she was not particularly bothered when people criticized her blue hair or other fashion choices.
“She’s really confident,” Kardashian said.
As North continues to develop her personal style in the public eye, her latest livestream makes one thing clear: while some of her most talked-about piercings may be temporary, her enthusiasm for self-expression is genuine.
