Brendan Coulter’s journey on The Voice came to an end sooner than some viewers might have hoped. The 27-year-old singer made a strong first impression during his Blind Audition with a fresh take on Jelly Roll’s “Liar,” turning the chairs of both Riley Green and Kelly Clarkson. He ultimately chose to join Team Riley, with the country star praising his performance and saying Jelly Roll would be proud of what he had done with the song.

But Coulter’s run ended during the Battle Rounds on October 13, when he faced fellow Team Riley contestant Keiyana Osmond in a performance of Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved.” After watching the two singers take on the song, Green chose Osmond to move forward, bringing Coulter’s time on the competition to a close.
Since his elimination, Coulter has given fans another glimpse of his musical talent in a TikTok video featuring a stripped-back cover of “My Way.” Playing guitar as he sings, he lets the performance speak for itself, while the caption offers a brief message to the coach who guided him through the competition: “Shout out to my coach.”

The post provides a personal follow-up to his time on the show, with Coulter acknowledging Green even after the difficult Battle decision. Although his journey on The Voice has ended, the cover gives viewers another opportunity to hear him perform on his own terms — beyond the pressure and format of the televised competition.
