Luke Grimes is getting ready to celebrate another year of marriage to Bianca Rodrigues Grimes, and the Yellowstone star is keeping a special surprise under wraps. As their anniversary approaches, the actor is also looking back on how a dating app led him to the woman he knew he wanted to be with from the very beginning.

Luke Grimes has a special anniversary surprise planned

During an October 15 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Grimes, 42, offered a glimpse into his plans for the couple’s upcoming anniversary in November.

When host Kelly Ripa asked about the celebration, the actor joked that “seven” was his lucky number before teasing a surprise for his wife.

“I can’t tell you then my wife will find out,” he said, adding, “I got some plans. I got something special [lined up].”

The couple reportedly married on November 21, 2018. Although they generally keep their relationship private, Bianca has occasionally marked the milestone with heartfelt anniversary posts on social media.

A dating app led him to “the one”

Grimes also shared the unexpectedly simple beginning of their love story. He met Bianca, a 30-year-old model, through a dating app — and their connection quickly made the experience worthwhile.

“[It was the] best $20 I ever spent,” he joked.

The actor explained that he had only used the app for a month when they met. Bianca was his first date, and he deleted the app shortly afterward.

“I was only on it for one month and we met. She was my first date, and I was right back off of it,” he recalled.

Grimes said he felt an immediate connection, although it took a little time to convince Bianca that his intentions were genuine.

“I was in right away,” he said. “I had to spend a few months convincing her that I wasn’t crazy and sort of, you know, wooing her. But yeah, I knew right away. I was smitten.”

Building a family away from the spotlight

While Grimes and Bianca have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye, they have occasionally appeared together at major events, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards in February 2022 and the Academy of Country Music Awards the following month.

Bianca has also shared glimpses of their relationship through anniversary tributes. In 2021, she posted a black-and-white beach photo of the couple, writing, “I’m so lucky to have you in my life ❤️ Happy anniversary anjo! Te amo.”

The pair entered a new chapter of their lives in October 2024, when they welcomed their first child, a son.

During his recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Grimes also spoke about life with his toddler, describing his son’s love of music, balls and toy trucks. According to the actor, anything round quickly becomes something to throw as his little boy runs around exploring the world.
